Hey there, I’m Petra—trail junkie, pyrography artist, and creative freedom coach living at the edge of the Blue Ridge in Central Virginia with my partner and our four dogs, Zina, Milo, Remi and Ringo.

This land? It’s my playground and my place of peace. With Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway in my backyard, I hike, camp, and wander not to escape life, but to find my way back to it. Out here, the noise fades and the truth gets louder.

Ridge Raven is my trail journal, creative sketchbook, and gentle nudge for anyone who’s been waiting for permission to explore, not just the wild outdoors, but the wild parts of themselves. Whether you’re hiking solo or stepping out for the first time, this space is here to remind you: you don’t have to go far to find freedom. Sometimes your own backyard holds the biggest adventure.

I believe in staying healthy, getting a little muddy, and laughing way more than I stress. A heart attack at 49? No thanks. I’ll take grit, grace, and good trail snacks instead.
